1-on-1 Instruction
We don’t believe in cookie-cutter training. At Golden Spikes, our private lessons are built around the individual athlete—your player’s goals, strengths, and the specific tools they need to take the next step. Whether it's refining mechanics or building confidence, our 1-on-1 coaching is where real growth happens.
Unlock Power and Consistency at the Plate
Our one-on-one hitting lessons focus on refining mechanics, building confidence, and developing a personalized approach that delivers results at the plate. With guidance from experienced instructors like former MLB player Bret Hemphill, players learn to hit with purpose—and power.
What We Work On:
Proper stance, grip, and swing mechanics
Timing, bat speed, and pitch recognition
Situational hitting, power development, and plate discipline
Train for Velocity, Command, and Longevity
Throwing harder starts with better movement patterns. Our one-on-one pitching lessons focus on building velocity through efficient mechanics, total-body strength, and consistent command—all while reinforcing habits that support long-term arm health.
What We Work On:
Explosive, repeatable mechanics that support velocity gains
Fastball command and secondary pitch development
Lower-body drive, core engagement, and balance
Arm care routines to protect and recover
Own the Plate. Lead the Field.
Being a catcher takes more than gear and grit—it takes instincts, technique, and leadership. That’s exactly what Bret Hemphill brings to the table. As a former MLB catcher and head of our catching program, he’s trained dozens of backstops to improve their skills, sharpen their mindset, and take charge behind the plate.
What We Work On:
Balanced stance, glove presentation, and quiet receiving
Blocking mechanics, transfer speed, and throwdowns
- Leadership, vocal presence, and in-game decision-making

Not only are the players taught to play the game in age appropriate levels, there is community among families/coaches and players. Spikes shine at tournaments because – win or lose – they show respect and good sportsmanship – life skills beyond baseball

Alex’s program has developed my son into one of our leagues top strikes thrower at 10 years old. In just one Rocket Arm Session he has increased velocity, accuracy, and consistency. Thanks Coach Alex!
